Srijan 2008 Speaker Panel Program
The Srijan 2008 Speaker Panel aims to work towards the active facilitation of entrepreneurs and MFIs in mainstreaming their business processes and accessing strategic capital. To that end, Srijan 2008 aims to augment its sector building initiatives through an in-depth discussion among sector experts, stakeholders, regulatory bodies and funding organizations through a side event called the Srijan 2008 Speaker Panel.

Another key objective of the panel is to engage new-age entrepreneurs and allow them a direct interface with the investors & sector leaders.

The Panel Discussion would be held on July 3rd, 2008 from 6-8 p.m., at the Grand Hyatt, Sanatacruz (E), Mumbai.

  • Entities currently working in the microfinance space.

Registration Process
  • Kindly download the registration form and the submission kit for the competition and submission guidelines here.

  • All interested participants are requested to email the filled registration form to submit@srijan2008.com

  • Completion of the registration form is mandatory and can be sent either before the submission of the business plan executive summary (preferred) or together.

    Note: Both the registration form and the B plan must reach the Srijan secretariat by the end of April 19th, 2008.

Business Plan Evaluation Process
The submitted entries will be screened at three stages of the competition:

Stage I: Initial screening of executive summaries
Stage II: Screening of selected full business plans
Stage III: Final Round presentations and selection of winners

In every stage of the competition, the Business Plans will be evaluated by a group of professionals including established entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, bankers and experts within the development sector. The members of the jury will be asked to assess the plans based on their  viability as well as their scalability and impact within the sector.

Kindly note the judging considerations might include (but will not be limited to) factors such as:
  • The degree of creativity/innovativeness embodied in the basic opportunity definition of the business concept.

  • The appropriateness of the strategy for exploiting the opportunity.

  • The ability of the plan to finance the business

  • The team’s/individual’s ability to actually implement/scale up the business.

  • The level of social impact created by the business and how it will be measured (either from the beginning or as the organization matures)
